13th Beach Australia

13th Beach Australia is situated in the western part of Barwon Heads, Victoria. The name 13th has been coined because of the proximity of the beach to the 13th hole of the Barwon Heads Golf Course. The 13th Beach is a very undeveloped beach. This beach is preferred by the bathers and the surfers who go for a patrolled beach which is far away from the madding crowd. The beach stretches around 7km between Black Rock and Barwon Heads. On an average, the beach experiences waves of around 1.5 m.

On every 250 m, the beach is dominated by rips. The beach houses the 13th Beach Surf Lifesaving Club which provides additional car parking facilities and access to the tracks. The surf club on this beach was founded in 1961.

The club is responsible for patrolling the beach in the summer. On an average, the club rescues 5 people every year. The beach is very near to the Melbourne city. Some parts of the beach are quite dangerous for the swimmers. Other parts are relatively safer. Excellent golf courses in this beach draw many golf lovers to this beach.

The Beach Course

This was opened in December 2001. This golf course has received high accolades from various bodies. According to a vote conducted by the Golf Australia magazine in 2009, this golf course figures in the list of top 25 golf courses in Australia. It has been ranked 8th in terms of public access facility. It is a great experience and challenge to the golfers who are lucky enough to play in this immature golf course.

The Creek Course

This golf course was designed in 2004. Sir Nick Faldo, 6 time major championship winner and Tony Cashmore were mainly instrumental behind the formation of this golf course. The aim behind the formation of this golf course was to give the golfers variation and different kind of challenge.
