AAMI - Football Park Stadium Australia
AAMI- Football Park Stadium Australia, is the premier football stadium in South Australia. It is also known as Port Adelaide’s home ground. Located in West Lakes the stadium was built in 1973 by South Australian National Football League. In terms of crowd capacity the AAMI stadium is the fourth largest after Stadium Australia, Melbourne Cricket Ground and Docklands Stadium.
AAMI Australia – Stadium History
AAMI, formerly known as the Football Park hosted its first event on May 4th, 1974. This was a SANFL match played between North Adelaide and Central District. Apart from football the stadium also witnessed cricket tournaments. The popular one was the Kerry Packer-run World Series Cricket matches held in the 1970’s. There were also rock concerts being held. Presently the football is the only sport that is played here.
How to reach the stadium
You can avail the public buses from the bus terminal at Adelaide. There are about 1,000 buses available from the stadium during the matches. The bus numbers are doubled when there are “Showdown” matches.
If you want to reach the stadium via railway, there is no direct railway line leading to it. There are plans to construct the same along the Grange line. Albert Park is the nearest railway station as of now. Other stations at Grange, East Grange and Seaton Park are also located at an equal distance.

How to get the Tickets
Tickets for all matches played in AAMI - Football Park Stadium Australia was sold by Ticketmaster. The cost of the pre-purchased tickets would be the same as the ones bought on the game day. All tickets are put up on sale a month before the game.

The Robbie William Concert held in December 5th, 2006. The total attendance was 80,000.The U2 Concert held in November 16th, 2006 with a total of 60,000 people approximately.
The SANFL Grand Final between Port Adelaide v/s Strut in September 28th 1976. The total attendees were 66,897.
AAMI - Football Park Stadium Australia has a seating capacity of maximum 51,515 audiences. In the year 1997 the stadium introduced corporate facilities that had suites at the southern part of the ground. This apart, in 2001 the balcony seats in the upper level were expanded. The stadium have had is Light Tower installations done as early as 1984 for better clarity. Initiatives are being taken to upgrade the stadium in terms of better traffic systems, concourses and undercover walkways. New seating arrangements too are being organized along with new entrances.
