Though these beaches are open all the through the year, it is a good idea to avoid these beaches in the summer time, from the months of December to February. While beaches in Brazil are known for its picturesque beauty, the white sands and the blue waters of Atlantic Ocean a feature characteristic of most Brazilian beaches, the water might not always be safe due to the strong currents. The former is known for being one of the most popular tanning spots, where you will find hundreds of visitors lazing around and soaking the sun. Ideal for family vacations, you can pass your time here, either drinking a beer or playing beach volleyball. Buzio, located hundred miles northeast of Rio, one of the small fishing villages of Brazil is home to many spotless, quiet and safe beaches. Another good option, away from Rio de Janeiro, is the Angra dos Reis, also known as Kings' Cove. Praia dos Castelhanos in Ilhabela is another popular beach, known for its unspoiled beauty. While it may take a bumpy road travel or a boat ride in order to reach this wilderness, the picturesque beauty of the beach more than makes up for it. The lush greenery of the Atlantic rain forests and the background offers an idyllic view of the beach.

Boipeba in Bahia is another off the beaten track beach, known for its quiet, secluded spots and the coastline fringed with palm trees. It is a quieter alternative to the Morro de São Paulo. Porto de Galinhas in Pernambuco is an extremely quiet and secluded beach, with the town offering only few restaurants, surf shops and bars, among others. Ponta Negra in Manaus is a popular tanning spot, which is more of a river beach than an ocean beach. Besides these top beaches in Brazil, Fernando do Noronha and the beautiful but crowded island of Santa Catarina is home to many beautiful beaches as well.
