Every corner of Brazil reeks of history and cultural heritage, offering different glimpses into the colorful life of the country. There are numerous historical sites in Brazil, with some even cited as World Heritage Sites. While some of

In the process, most of these villages and towns have been declared as World Heritage Sites as well. The history of Ouro Preto can be traced back to the later half of the 17th century, when it was one of the major attractions for gold hunting. Salvador da Bahia is also one of the important historical sites in Brazil, with the state being divided into the upper and lower. Salvador is home to many famous churches, including the Church of Sao Francisco and the Church of Bonfim, among others. The religion and culture has a distinct fusion of Catholic and African religions. The Diamantina National Park, Ilheus and Aracaju in Bahia, among others are also important historical places. In south Brazil, Porto Alegre reeks of colonial heritage and home to Saíµ Miguel das Missíµes, another World Heritage Site. While these are some of the natural historical centers of Brazil, Brazil is home to many important museums, depicting much from rich cultural past of the country.
