The Brasilia Botanical Gardens: This is one of the top national parks in Brazil. This park was built in the year 1985 and is known for its dry pasture vegetation. This is very typical of Central Brazil. This is one of the parks which tries to educate people about environment. It is also a center of research as well. This is one of the parks which is known for the native as well as the exotic plants available. You will also find some places reserved for the picnics in the park. This park remains closed on Sunday and Monday and on other days it is open from 9 am to 5 pm.
The Brasilia National Park: This is one of the best national parks in Brazil which is spread over 30 thousand hectares. This is also known as “Agua Mineral”. The reason is that there is a large number of springs as well as pools of water that flow out of Acampamento Stream which is present in the park. Other than these pools of water, you will also find trails for walking. One of them is located near the Capivara Trail and the second one is the Cristal Agua Trail. You can complete the walk in 1 hour. You will also be able to see armadillos, monkeys as well as capybaras. Capybaras is a large rodent mammal. There is an entry fee but the park remains open all throughout the year from 8 am to 4 pm.
The Imperial Plateau Park: This is also one of the national parks in Brazil which is visited by a large number of people. The place is just 50 km away from the Imperial Plateau. This is situated in an Environmental Protection Area. You will find trails and waterfalls as well as separate points for bathing and diving in the park. You will also have the facility for guided tours as well which will take 9 am to 5.30 pm. You should carry sneakers, hat, cap, solar protector, light food for intervals etc.
Brasilia Zoo: This is a national park in Brazil as well as a thematic park also. This is spread over 140 hectares. This park is also situated near Wild Life Sanctuary and the Birds Park. These three are taken care off by the Ecological Pole Foundation Of Brasilia. You will find 1,300 animals in the zoo and these include birds, reptiles, mammals etc. You will find around 253 species of animals, most of them are typical South American Fauna. Rare variety species are also available here. You will also find a snacks bar, an auditorium, an arena bar, a small library and a Taxidermy Museum.
