Port of Montreal: The Port of Montreal is located in the second largest metropolis of Canada. This is one of the busiest ports on the North American continent. This is also the largest inland port on Earth. It has been supposed to be one of the safest, and one of the most advanced ports on the planet. Most of the movements of the port were done solely by computers and machines. It is also the access point to other major cities such as Detroit, Toronto and Cleveland. It is the second busiest port in Canada after Vancouver. Stretching for over two kilometres along the St.Lawrence River in Old Montreal, the Old Port Of Montreal has been one of the Top Ports in Canada. It has been the economic, social and cultural soul of Montreal ever since early French fur traders used it as a trading post in 1611. It was here that the city and the port came to life for more than 350 years ago.
Today, the riverfront welcomes more than seven million visitors per year. The historical Old Port offers Montrealers and visitors similar access to a wide variety of activities. There is a refrigerated skating rink, the Montréal Science Centre, horse-drawn carriages, performances and an IMAX Theatre. It also offers walking, cycling, quadricycle, pedalo, roller-blading and Segway rentals on the riverfront area. It is also located at the eastern end of the Lachine Canal, which has itself been copiously renovated by Parks Canada as a popular destination for roller-blading, cycling and pleasure boating. The port is governed by the Montreal Port Authority or MPA. This is an autonomous federal agency whose aim is to provide highly-effective facilities and services for its clients.
Toronto Port: is another Top Ports in Canada. All the activities of this port is governed by Toronto Port Authority or TPA. The Toronto Port Authority replaced the Toronto Harbour Commission. The TPA owns and operates from the Toronto City Center Airport, marine terminals 51 and 52 abd also the outer harbour marina.
