The Chocolate Hills: Bohol’s Chocolate Hills is one of the major tourist attractions in the country. This wonderful geologic structure comprises more than 1,200 hills shaped like cones, which are spread across an area of more than 50 square kilometers. It is called Chocolate Hills because of the brown color of the limestone formations during the dry season of the year when the grasses which cover the hills get totally dried up. The heights of these hills vary between 30 meters and 120 meters. Those who wish to visit Bohol should definitely watch the Chocolate Hills. The distribution of the hills is very concentrated in the towns of Sagbayan and Carmen and hence the hills can be best viewed from these places.

Panglao Island: If you love to enjoy yourself on the sunny beaches and love to play with white sand, Panglao Island is the right address for you. The crystal-clear water surrounding this island makes it one of the favorite diving spots. The diving spots in Panglao Island are regarded as some of the most popular diving spots in Philippines. But one thing that you should always remember while traveling to this island is that you should carry sufficient amount of cash as there are no automated teller machines (ATM’s) to help you

Apart from the hills and islands, people who love adventure can also visit some of the caves in Bohol. There are about 1,000 caves in Bohol and you are allowed to discover many of them. Tourists can visit the Hinagdanan cave situated near Dauis, a town on Panglao Island. The stalactites and stalagmites in Hinagdanan cave make it a top tourist attraction place.

Another cave, called the Francisco Dagohoy Cave, was the headquarters of Francisco Dagohoy during his campaign against the Spanish occupation, regarded as the longest rebellion in the history of Philippines, from the year 1744 to 1829. The winding passages of the caves are embedded with crystals, which offer a sparkling display.
