Moulay Idriss: The holy city of Moulay Idriss was set up in 788 A.D. The city is perched upon the rock region of Khiber and Tazga with houses encompassed by hills. The mausoleum and town have been named after Moulay Idriss who is the founder of the first state of Morocco and the most respected saint.

Dar Jamai Museum: Before it started keeping the Meknes collections, Dar Jamai was used for different purposes. Constructed in the year 1882, it was originally meant to be the dwelling place of the Jamai family. However, it was used as a military hospital after the year 1912. Sculpted plaster and painted wood and the cypress and fruit trees in the Andalusia garden will give you an idea about the extent of luxury enjoyed by the affluent bourgeoisie of Meknes. It became the Museum of Moroccon Art in the year 1920. This Museum is now totally dedicated to the crafts of the region.
