The Island, triangular in shape, has several beaches. The Long Beach on the western coast, which is the address of a majority of the hotels and is also the longest among the other beaches, is really a wonderful place where tourists can simply relax. Bai Sao which is situated on the east coast is also another favorite tourist spot and is regarded as the best beach in the Island of Phu Quoc. The water is as clear as crystal and the white sand covering the beaches attract a lot of tourists. Some of the other beaches include Ong Lang, Bai Dai and Bai Thom.

Pagodas and Temples in Phu Quoc: Phu Quoc Island is surrounded by temples and pagodas that provide insight into Buddhism. One thing that the visitors should always remember when visiting a temple is that they should not wear shorts and should not enter the holy place in bare shoulders.

Pepper Plantations in Phu Quoc: Vietnam is regarded as the leading exporter of black pepper, the best quality of harvest coming from Phu Quoc. Visitors will come across several pepper farms on their way in the northern and central parts of this Island. Interested travelers can have a guided tour of a pepper farm to get a detailed view of the growing process.

Water Falls in Phu Quoc: There are also several beautiful waterfalls in Phu Quoc Island. Suoi Tranh waterfall is approximately 7km east of Duong Dong. Once you have paid your entry fee, it is just a 10 to 15 minutes walk through the jungle. You can also take a dip at the rock pools and at the top, there is a waterfall.

Ham Ninh Fishing Village: Those who love fishing should definitely visit this fishing village located on the east coast of Phu Quoc Island. The locals are all set to welcome you and would be really pleased if you buy some pearls from them.

How to Reach Phu Quoc You can easily reach Phu Quoc by flight. Vietnam Airlines has flights to Ho Chi Minh City from Los Angeles everyday via Taipei. Vietnam Airlines also flies six times in a week from New York or Dallas via Tokyo, Paris or Frankfurt. From Ho Chi Minh, the Airlines fly thrice everyday to Phu Quoc.

Best Time to Visit Phu Quoc
The people of Phu Ouoc Island enjoy a sensational climatic condition throughout the year. The west coast of the Island is best between November and May and the east coast between May and September. Avoid visiting the Island during the month of October as it usually rains during this time of the year. The peak season for the international visitors starts from November and ends in May. However, the domestic tourists usually frequent the place between June and October.
