Chambord Castle is a four-towered rectangle square that encircles the inner four-towered central building.
- Apart from such a complex architectural expertise, the castle also has a double spiral staircase which is considered as one of master piece of the Renaissance art and architecture.
- This double spiral staircase was designed by the famous Leonardo Da Vinci.
- The Chambord Castle also showcases several works of art. Chambord, the Carriages museum is also a point of interest.
There are five carriages kept here which were specially ordered to bring in King Henry V. The roof of the castle was designed keeping in mind the skyline of Constantinople. The exhibits in the rooms of the castle comprise of old regime furnishings. The castle also has a hunting museum. The Chambord Park in the adjoining area of the Chambord Castle is also an interesting tourist spot.
Today, the Chambord Castle, Loire Valley is owned by the government. The restoration work of the castle began after the end of World War II.
Visitors Timings and Tickets
- The Chambord Castle opens everyday at 9 am and closes at 5:45 pm during the months of April to June, and till 4:45 pm from the month of October to March and till 6:45 pm from July to August.
- One can reach the Chambord Castle by car or train.
- It is easy to enter the castle only on paying a minimal charge which is about 6 Euro.
