Geography of India
The nation lies towards the north of the equator which is in the degree of 8°4' and 37°6' north latitude and 68°7' and 97°25' east longitude. The country is well surrounded by many neighboring countries and seas. You will find the Arabian Sea towards the southeast, Bay of Bengal at the southeast and Indian ocean to the south.
The highest topographic state of India is Jammu and Kashmir. Rivers:
All the main rivers flowing through India originates from the Himalayan range, Satpura range and Western Ghats. The significant rivers of the Himalayan range include Indus, Beas, Chenab, Ravi, Sutlej, and Jhelum. The Satpura range or the Ganga-Brahmaputra Rivers that are famous include Yamuna, Gomti, Chambal, Nmrmada, Tapti. Lastly, the rivers of Western Ghats are Mahanadi River, Godavari River, Krishna River, and Kaveri River
