Jaisalmer

Nicknamed as “The Golden City”, Jaisalmer is a beautiful town in Rajasthan and is one of the popular places in India with a huge tourist interest. The main bus stand of the town is located very close to the railway station. You will find buses for Jodhpur, Bikaner, Jaipur, and Barmer from this bus stand.

The prime attraction of Jaisalmer is the Jaisalmer Fort. Built in 1156 by the Bhati Rajput ruler Jaisal, this popular fort of Rajasthan is located on the Trikuta Hill. A quarter of the city's population still live inside the fort. Visit Rah Mahal, Jain temples and the Laxminath temple inside the fort. Jaisalmer is the place of a number of Havelis. Visit some of the popular Havelis like Patwon-ki-Haveli, Salim Sing-ki-Haveli, Nathmalji-ki-Haveli. While in Jaisalmer, you can also visit the museums like Desert Culture Centre & Museum, Jaisalmer Folklore Museum, Government Museum etc. Gadsisar Lake is also another popular tourist attraction in Jaisalmer.
