Sports Events in India 2011
A variety of sports are practiced in India. The country hosts numerous sports events throughout the year. Many sports events will be held in the country in 2011 also. The most important sports event that the country is going to host in 2011
Football is another sport which is widely followed in the country. Major football tournaments are held every year in the country are the IFA Shield, Durnad Cup, Federation Cup, Santosh Trophy, Nehru Cup International Football Tournament and various other regional football tournaments. Durand Trophy is the oldest football tournament in the country. Another sport in which India boasts of a glorious past is hockey. A variety of hockey tournaments are held in the country throughout the year. Like in every year, in 2001, India will host tournaments such as All India MCC Murugappa Gold Cup Hockey Tournament, All India Aagha Khan Hockey Tournament, All India Beighton Cup Hockey Tournament, All India Lal Bahadur Shastri Hockey Tournament, All India Gurmeet Memorial Hockey Tournament, All India Jawaharlal Nehru Hockey Tournament, All India K D Singh Babu Memorial Invitational
Like every year country will host several golf tournaments in 2011. The tournaments will be Aamby Valley Asian Masters, Avantha Masters, Hero Honda Indian Open, Indian Masters and the SAIL Open. A variety of snooker tournaments are held in the country every year. The snooker tournaments in the country include All India 9 Ball Pool League, the All India Junior Open Snooker Tournament, the All India Invitational Snooker Championship, the Snooker Tournament and many more. Aside from these, sports events in India 2001 will include various tournaments in Tennis, Badminton, Swimming, athletics, archery and many other sports.
