The golden dome of the mosque is known to be splendid as its interior walls display decorations with picturesque woodcarvings and Arabic calligraphy.

Male' Fish Market is known to be the main commercial area and is located to the west of the Republic Square. This is known to be one of the liveliest places. The local boats called dhonis come to the inner harbor of Male’ each evening. These boats unload their catch from the sea and these are sold to the locals and the tourists as soon as they are unloaded. The Local Market which is located just one block away from this market is known to be divided into numerous small stalls which sell different kinds of local handcrafted products which are mainly produced in these atolls.
