Cavadee: Being one of the main festivals in Mauritius, this is celebrated in the months of January and February. Ganesh Chaturthi: One of the top festivals in Mauritius, this is celebrated in the month of September and is major festival for the people of Indian origin. This festival marks the birth of Ganesha, a mythological character of the Hindu mythology.

Maha Shivaratri: Among the festivals in Mauritius, Maha Shivaratri is celebrated by the Indians especially the Hindus staying there. This is celebrated in the month of February. The devotees carry wooden arches or Kawar as it is known which is decorated with flowers.

Holi: Festival of color, Holi, is celebrated with great enthusiasm in Mauritius by the people of Indian origin. Being one of the top festivals in Mauritius, this festival is all about sprinkling colored water as well as powder on each other.
