Morocco is a country of museums. That is why the tourism department of the government of Morocco arranges separate travel for the tourists to undertake museum tours in Morocco. Morocco as already highlighted is located in the northern part of Africa. There has been influence of native African culture plus the influence of European and Arabic culture has added greatly towards the cultural and social development of the country. On the one side the country is close to Algeria and on the other side it close to the Republic of Spain. As already highlighted previously there are various museums located all over Morocco. Let’s throw light on some of them. Archaeological Museum of the country was set up way back in the year 1932. After a prolonged gap this museum has earned admiration as the center to preserve the national treasures and heritage of the country since the year 1986. There are specimens of some of the historical and archaeological since the time of Neanderthals to the Neolithic. That is why this museum has earned the status of National Museum of Morocco. There is also a separate Islamic archaeology section opened in this museum with the excavations from the 8th and 9th century sites.
Now coming to another museum in Morocco named The Museum of Moroccan Arts. This museum was formerly the residential apartments of the governor of Morocco. In this museum of Morocco there are exhibits of ancient arts of Morocco.
