The national park has been divided into five broad zones – Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 3, Zone 4 and Zone 5. Zone 1 is the most arid region of the park, but Zone 2 on the eastern side of the park receives more rainfall. Zone 3 is the largest area stretching between Crocodile and Olifants Rivers.
