The attraction of the traditional Thai festivals are more than the international ones. 9th February in every year is celebrated in Thailand as the Chinese New Year's Day. This is the festival for the Chinese communities in this country but there are lots of people from all the communities taking part over here. The main reason for the great popularity of this festival is the display of power, color and splendor in this festival. There are lots of things that are to be known about this festival.
Magha Bucha Day is celebrated on 23rd February and this day represents the influence of the Buddhist culture on the culture of this country. The main attractions for this festival are the temples that are located over here in many of the major cities. There is the huge influence of Buddhism as well as Hinduism in the culture in Thailand.
The festival of Songkran Day is also important. This day is celebrated on 13th April. This is the day when the Thai New Year's Day is celebrated. 5th May is celebrated as the famous Coronation Day when the Thai King was coroneted. This is celebrated as a public holiday and all the people in this country celebrate this day as one of the most auspicious days in the Thai culture. The Queen's birthday is also celebrated as the Mother's Day and this takes place on 12th August.
King Rama is one of the most influential kings in the history of Thailand and his name is remembered on 23rd October which is also known as the Chulalongkorn Day. He was the first king in this country who took several steps for the utmost development of all the aspects in Thailand. 5th December on the other hand is known as the King's birthday. This day, like the Queen's birthday, is also celebrated as the Father's Day in Thailand. The area of Grand Palace is the center of all the celebrations that take place during this time.
