  1. Venetian House- Located at the intersection of Tartini Square and 9th Corps Street, Venetian House is one example of Piran’s Venetian Gothic architecture. Built in the middle of the 15th century, it is Tartini Square’s oldest preserved house. The exterior is decorated with stone ornaments and beautiful architectural elements.
  2. Tartini Square: Tartini Square is surrounded by beautiful buildings. Tartini House is one of the oldest houses and it is the birthplace of Guiseppe Tartini. The house was renovated between 1985 and 1991. At present, it is used for hosting exhibitions, cultural events and workshops.
  3. Segej Masera Maritime Museum: Segej Masera Maritime Museum is a representative of the Venetian dominion comprising three significant features of Piran, namely, the sailing, sea and salt (there are large quantities of salt on the road near Portoroz).

Town Wall: The town walls were completed between

1470 and 1534 and consist of eight crenellated towers with battlements. The exterior of the walls reflect a defensive setting with a slight angle. Some parts of the towers and the connecting walkways were revamped so as to make the walls easily accessible to the visitors.

By Air: A small regional airport is located at Portoroz meant for charter flights and the international airports of Ljubljana and Trieste are located at approximately an hour’s distance. Alitalia flights fly two times everyday to Trieste via Rome from New York and once everyday from Chicago. There are daily Lufthansa flights to Ljubljana via Frankfurt from New York and Boston.

Best Time to Visit Piran
The ideal time to visit Piran is during the summer season, i.e. from June to August, when Piran enjoys a warm Mediterranean climate. However, if you want to enjoy the benefits of reduced prices, then the ideal traveling time is late Spring and early Fall.
