Renovated in 1998, the Grand Mosque is now the tallest landmark in the city of Dubai, with an estimated height of 70 m (231 ft). The impressive structure of the mosque is based on a solid grounding underneath, supported by 9 big domes and 45 smaller ones. One of the intriguing things about the Grand Mosque is its spaciousness. Nearly 1200 devout worshipers can be accommodated in the mosque, making it one of the biggest mosques in the world.

The capital territory of Abu Dhabi is going to have a Grand Mosque shortly. Till date, it is under construction.
Once built, this mosque too would reflect an epic grandeur that is so typical of the Islamic art and architecture.

The Jumeirah Mosque in Dubai is one of the great mosques in UAE. The structural intricacies of this venue reflect the medieval tradition of Fatimid architecture. There have been quite a few refurbishments to the exterior as well as to the interior of this majestic looking venue of worship. It is also among the most photographed sights of Dubai.

Dubai has another famous mosque up its sleeves. The Masjid e Ali is one of the biggest shia mosques in the city.

Mosques in UAE are centers for performing the religious rites and rituals. Salat is one of the sacred religious customs in which men undergo prostration before the careful observation of an imam. This custom is performed in the UAE mosques. As per the rule, everybody must enter the premises of the mosque barefoot. Shoes are not allowed inside the holy area.
