UAE is one of the major places of attraction in the region surrounding the Persian Gulf. In the last decade or so,
this country has smacked up a tremendous amount of significance in the international front. Comprised of seven states, the United Arab Emirates thrive on tourism and oil industry. The United Arab Emirates is located along one of the primary migratory paths between eastern Asia and Europe.

Names of Dubai and Abu Dhabi deserve a special mentioning in this context. Among the 360 species of birds, the worth mentioning ones are passage birds and resident breeding birds. In addition to these varieties, there are also birds that breed during summer.

Safa Park in Dubai is regarded to be one of the fascinating places as far as bird watching in UAE is concerned. The covered enclosure of the tidal lagoon at Khor in Dubai is a perfect setting to watch birds such as waders and other migratory birds and has long been the haven to more than 4,000 of the world's recorded 30,000 broad billed sandpipers.

Bird watching in UAE also takes into its periphery the seasonal activities. Birds such as Lesser Sand Plovers and Kentish Plovers are found in abundance over here. Ardent bird lovers can also spot Spoonbill, Great White Egret, Greater Flamingo, Spotted Eagle, Caspian Tern, Marsh Harrier, Osprey and so on. The enclosed sanctuaries are viewable from the borders surrounding it, near the area leading to the Al Ain and Hatta main roads.

The desert regions in the United Arab Emirates are probably home to some of the most unique species of birds. Not only do they belong to rare breeds, they also represent the indigenous species of birds in the area. The sand dunes over there are ideal nesting places for the resident desert birds such as Desert Warbler, Hoopoe Lark and Desert Wheatear.
