History of USA:
USA has always witnessed immigrations. 15,000 years ago, people from Asia migrated to this country. Puerto Rico in United States of America saw the first European land here. Christopher Columbus arrives in the year 1492. Many more Europeans migrated to this country and settled here. The colonial history of this country is marked by immigrants from Spain, Dutch, France and Britain. The immigrants discovered the major areas of USA and settled in these areas.
While the Spanish immigrants discovered the Mississippi River area, Appalachian Mountains, Great Plains and Grand Canyon, the Dutch settled in the eastern coast of North America. Immigrants from Britain rose to power and took over the whole of USA. The country was freed after a rebellion in `1775 by the ‘thirteen colonies’.
The national era of USA saw the American Revolution under the chivalrous commander-in-chief George Washington. Later, he was chosen as the first President of United States. With this, USA earned a new identity for itself. Several historical events and revolutions came to be a part of this country in the later years.
