Founded- The museum was constructed on 10th June 1966 and the present location where it is now situated was opened for public viewing in 2003.


About the Museum- The museum built with the ancient collection of Asian art, which belonged to one of the Chicago industrialist named Avery Brundage. He donated his personal collection so that the museum could be built. Brundage kept on donating valuable and rare artifacts and it was looked after by Asian Art Commission. There are nearly 7700 collections of Asian art and other objects. After his death, contributions were made from various other places.
